Announcements

Camp Bowman Summer Camp
July 21-28, 2012

We have reserved our slot at Camp Bowman at Goshen Scout Reservation from 21 July 2012 to 28 July 2012. Saturday to Saturday. This is a slight departure from our normal operations for summer camp (Sunday to Saturday). The reason behind this is an additional day to get things organized for the boys regarding their food and cooking equipment since there is not a mess hall for the boys to eat at. They will be cooking all of their own meals, as a patrol, for the duration of summer camp.

The cost is $310.00 per scout and $240.00 per adult if paid before April 27th, 2012. After April, the cost will go up $30.00 if paid before June 01st and another $30.00 at camp. The ideal situation is to pay before the 27th of April.

We will begin accepting payments for summer camp in the troop immediately, see Mrs. Klinefelter regarding payments. You can also pay a little each month into your scout account to cover summer camp so you don’Äôt have to pay it all at once in April. Also, Mulch sales are right around the corner and can be used to offset the cost of summer camp.

If you feel summer camp is out of reach for your son due to financial restrictions, there are scouterships available within the Troop as well as at the Council level that you can apply for to offset the overall cost. Contact the Committee Chair or myself if this is an option you would like to pursue. Any discussions pertaining to financial help will be kept confidential.

No scout should ever NOT experience summer camp simply because they don’Äôt have the money to pay for it.
