Text Box: Next Scout Meeting [17 Nov]:  -  Troop Meeting, November 17th, 2008. 7:00 PM at Hartwood Presbyterian Church.  Uniform is Class A with sash.   The Troop will conduct its quarterly Court of Honor.

   Text Box: 1.  November Camping Trip [14-16 Nov].  Who:  All Scout Tribes.   What: Caving camping trip to West Virginia - High Adventure / intro caving, On Saturday: Our Scout & New Scout Tribes will tour Organ Cave, which will include some of its Geology/Science and History.  Their tour is about 2 hours (or more depending on questions).  Our Venture Tribe will attempt to traverse the trail to Sally’s Waterfall.  This trip will challenge those of our Venture Tribe who have no experience as well as those with some.   Scouts will also have several opportunities to work on both Merit Badge Requirements as well as Rank Advancements.   There will also be a Patrol site inspection with awards given to the patrol who scores highest. When: 14 – 16 November 2008.  Where:  Camping at Greenbrier State Park.   Cost:   Scouts can use their scout accounts, cash, or make out a check to “Troop 1717.”  ST and NST – We Must have at least 20 people for the.  They confirmed that if we had at least 20 people (adults and scouts) we could get the special educational tour and rate of $7.00 per person.  VT - We can get the price for Sally’s waterfall down to $40.50 with at least 10 people.  Estimated fee schedule:

4. Washington Capitals Scout Night Hockey Game [14 Nov].  Sign up for discounted tickets to attend the Washington Capitals Scout Night hockey game against the New Jersey Devils on Friday, November 14, 7pm at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. The cost is $21 per ticket for upper level seating (usually $35).  Checks payable to Troop 1717 must be turned in to Susan Doepp, at the meeting, or use your scout account.
5. Timberline Ski Trip Sign-Up Deadline [24 Nov].  We have the weekend of February 27-March 1st reserved for us up at Timberline.  We have 25 spots available and the cost will be approximately $150-160.  Mr. Fedun will be requiring a $80 deposit by November 24.  First Come first served.  Siblings and parents are welcomed to attend.
