During the Christmas break in 2010, Troop 1717 sent 14 scouts and scouters to the Northern Tier High Adventure base located near Ely, Minnesota.  This was the first High Adventure Camp visited by the troop.  It was lead Mr. Ben Klinefelter.

We participated in their OKPIK program for winter camping, staying 2 nights and 3 days camping on a frozen lake.  We were split up into two crews.  We built snow kitchens and 'Quinzees' or snow caves to sleep in.  When not busy building at camp, we had fun on hikes with snowshoes and cross-country skiing.
